Occupational training centres (OTC) are special facilities for the occupational rehabilitation of individuals who are suffering from psychological illnesses. Their goal is to provide the patient with a realistic professional perspective, in order to enable the rehabilitation of persons affected in the general labour market or stabilization for a subsequent retraining or education. Thereby, over the course of 12 to 15 months, either a partially stationary adaptation to the current demands the use of a profession which has already been learned, or on-the-job-training in a new professional field, takes place for the individual who has been rehabilitated. Three months of on-the-job pre-vocational evaluation and training measures are also possible.
